《21世纪大学英语第一册》教学大纲

21世纪大学英语第一册》教学大纲

本门课程的教学目标和要求:培养学生具有较强的阅读能力,一定的听和译的能力,初步的写和说的能力,使他们能以英语为工具,获取专业所需要的信息。大学英语教学应帮助学生掌握良好的语言学习方法,打下扎实的语言基础,提高文化修养,培养学生语言运用能力、交流信息能力,以适应社会发展和经济建设的需要。

教学重点和难点:本册应掌握的词汇量约1000个左右,四级词汇量约650个左右,常用的固定搭配、短语、习语、成语等约200个左右。课文内容的剖析及理解,掌握作者写作目的及行文的结构方式。听力特色教学,学生上机自主学习,教师辅导。

教学对象:一年级非英语专业本科生

教学方式:课堂讲授,课后练习

教学时数:周学时3,总学时60(精读4学时,听力2学时)

教学的具体内容及学时分配:

 

 

Unit 1   Secrets of A Students  (4学时)

 

   教学目标和要求:通过了解英国A级学生的学习秘诀,使学生们充分认识到学习成绩的好坏不完全取决于天赋,还要依靠科学的学习方法。

    教学重点和难点:

    重点单词perform, high-achieving, lower-scoringconcentrate, focus, interrupt, ignore, assign, athleterecall, memorize, drawer, essential, essay, draft, duedeadline, schedule, overtired, relevant, content, retainrevise, participate, intellect, curiosity, graduate

Unit 2     Conversational Ballgames

 

    教学目标和要求:理解作者将谈话比作一场球赛的喻意,引导学生思考如何在谈话中把握技巧与分寸,从而使谈话顺利进行下去。

    教学重点和难点:

重点单词:conversation, gradual, startle, halt, handle, challenge, disagree, responsible, bounce, object, forth, bowling, alley, relative, previous, junior, suitable, apart, parellel

重点词组:back and forth, and so on , step up, fall apart, call on/upon

难点句型:…to the point where…, (just) as…so,  whether…or…, now that

    教学目标和要求:通过了解Stevie的生命传奇,使学生们理性地看待职业的选择和人生的成败。无论将来从事什么职业,成功取决于自我的努力。

    教学重点和难点:

    教学目标和要求:了解洗衣妇的辛勤工作和她因此而得到的人们的尊敬与爱戴,培养学生们正确的人生观和价值观,理解作者所阐述的主题:奉献、牺牲及责任感可以赋予最卑微的工作以尊严。

    教学重点和难点:

    教学目标和要求:通过了解“妥协的语言”,让学生们学会如何在充满竞争与挑战的环境中与周围的人和谐地相处。在婚姻中避免冲突的最佳方式就是多站在对方的意愿和角度上去思考问题。

    教学重点和难点:

    教学目标和要求: 通过了解文中多萝茜·宾恩对黑人学生的特殊关照与厚爱,从而让学生理解教育对一个人成长的重要。

    教学重点和难点:
